How Do You Pack Wine Glasses for Moving?

Wine glasses are more difficult to pack for moving than regular drinking glasses because they tend to have a stem on them. Regular glasses can be nested in groups of two or three and then wrapped in packing paper, but this is unfortunately not an option with more fragile and delicate wine glasses. One way to pack wine glasses for moving is to wrap each one individually with packing paper, and then lay them in a box, alternating directions so that the cup portion of one glass is next to the stem of the glass next to it.

However the best way to pack wine glasses that will provide more protection during transit is to use boxes specifically made for packing glasses. These boxes have an insert that creates individual compartments into which you can place the wrapped glasses. If there is still space in the compartment after putting the wine glass in it, then stick some extra wadded up packing paper in the space for more padding and to prevent the glass from being shaken about during the move.
