How Long Does It Take to Move Out of an Apartment?
When planning your upcoming move, you are likely thinking that it would be nice to know exactly how long it is going to take. While there is no set answer for this, there are a variety factors that you can consider which determine how long it takes to move items out of different types of homes.
For a one- or two-bedroom apartment, the general estimate is that it will take approximately two hours for professional movers to load everything onto the truck. - What floor you are on – If you live on the fourth floor and there is no service elevator, then it will of course take more time to move you out of an apartment that is located on the first floor as the movers will be bringing all the furniture and boxes down several flights of stairs or in an elevator.
- Moving truck accessibility – Depending on the layout of your apartment complex, it may be difficult to park the truck near your apartment, adding more distance and therefore more time for the movers to get the truck loaded.
- Your furniture – If you have furniture that needs to be disassembled before it will fit out of the apartment door or into an elevator, then this could add time to the moving-out process.
